ANNUAL FUND
2007-2008
Why do we
have an Annual Fund Campaign?
Annual Fund
dollars directly cover the highest priorities of the school and provide the
added edge to enable PCHS to continue to offer quality education. If you step
through our doors, you will see the living examples of how generosity is making
an impact on our students lives. We invite you to be a part of this today by
participating in our Annual Fund.
Our Goal:
This year we
wish to raise a minimum of $100,000. We would like to double the number of
Annual Fund Donors. Gifts at every level have a tremendous impact, and no gift
is too small!
How will
your gift be used?
TO CLOSE THE TUITION GAP: Tuition covers only 85% of the cost of a
PCHS education. Therefore, a strong and growing Annual Fund is an essential
element in the overall financial stability of PCHS.
TO PERPETUATE OUR MISSION: Your support will enable us to continue
to develop young men and women who are spiritually, intellectually, socially and
morally mature by providing a disciplined and nurturing college preparatory
environment,
rooted in the Catholic tradition.
TO OFFER STUDENTS OPPORTUNITIES: A strong Annual Fund will ensure
that the Financial Aid program can continue to provide students a chance to
receive a PCHS education.
TO ENRICH THE STUDENTS EXPERIENCE:
Technological advancement, growth in programs and school enhancements are a few
of the areas that benefit from the Annual Fund dollars.
How can I
make a gift to the Annual Fund?
OUTRIGHT GIFT:
Receive a tax deduction in the current tax year and
support PCHS at the same time with
your check, MasterCard or VISA.
MATCHING GIFTS: Check with your employer to see if they offer a
matching gift program. If so, include your matching
gift form with your gift.
MEMORIAL GIFTS:
Your gift may be given in memory of a loved one or
someone special to you.
PLEDGES:
Donors considering a gift may make payments spread over time.
MULTI-YEAR GIFTS: You can maximize your gift by making a multi-year
commitment.
APPRECIATED SECURITIES:
Gifts of stock, bonds and mutual funds
that have appreciated in value enable many donors to reap additional benefits.
You will receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the security on
the day it is donated, avoiding capital gains on the appreciation value.
GIFTS FROM YOUR IRA:
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA
2006) offers charitably minded individuals a golden opportunity to make gifts
from their IRAs and exclude the amount of their gifts from gross income. To
qualify:
-
The donor
must be 70 ½ years of age or older;
-
The
transfers must go directly from the IRA to qualified charities;
-
Gifts cannot
exceed $100,000 per tax year; and
-
Gifts must
be outright (transfers to donor advised funds, support organizations, and
charitable remainder trusts and for charitable gift annuities do not qualify)
This
opportunity is available for 2006 & 2007, and no charitable income tax deduction
is allowed.
BEQUESTS:
